MOUNTAIN VILLAGE

One of the blessings of living in the foothills of the Alps and so close to the mountains, is that you can experience the seasons in so many ways and see them while they unfold according to the different altitudes. While it is full Spring already in the valley, with lots of flowers in bloom in the woods and in the gardens, the mountains still bear clear signs of winter. But first spring flowers are already showing up there too, due to the very mild temperatures these days, and the snow is quickly melting.

This is a lovely village at 1,100 m height

Look at those primulas showing up close to the snow!

There is even a lovely, romantic little hotel with an adjoining café here!

Dearest Anna,
What a lovely awakening in the mountains. Picturesque village with its romantic hotel building. That would be a bliss for staying there, any season!
So glad you are catching up on blogging too.
Got the problem from yesterday solved by a professional. It gave me a mega headache, so aggravating as I could partly be on Internet, like Facebook, Windows Live for all emails and my Design for my blog's editing. Nothing else. Some weird browser problem and still all my favorites' avicons are mixed up but I can live with that.
The post I had meant to launch yesterday, I put on hold for tonight as I did not yet know if this was a Blogger problem so it would have been useless to launch it if others were facing the same problems.
So glad that we're this far, a very hectic time with our trip to The Netherlands for Mom's 90th B'day: http://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2014/02/happy-90th-birthday-mom.html
Also my Parents' 65th wedding anniversary: http://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2014/03/mom-dads-65th-wedding-anniversary.html
That was the reason of our 64th trip to visit Family; especially my Parents. Not easy in Winter time but we managed.
You can see here: http://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2014/03/happy-mom-on-her-90th-birthday-thanks.html - indeed very happy while reading all the comments towards her. I did bring my new laptop to the hospital for her to see this. A touch screen Samsung and also Dad got to see it. We went 5 x to the dialysis in the hospital so this was not a sight seeing trip but very much a family visit!
Meanwhile, 4 days before we left for the USA a strong tornado struck our subdivision and amaged 56 homes and totaled one... A big scare and also heavy rains of 11 cm! Luckily we had no damage and no water problems so Pieter's hard work before this trip paid off!

So these were our adventures while you were away from blogging.
Tonight I post my video presentation towards the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia in regard to Leprosy... Had it ready for yesterday but due to my internet problems I did not, as I had no idea if others couldn't get into Blogger as well.
Big hugs to you and enjoy this spring season. I type this with Barty our birthday cat on my lap. He turned 10 today and he's such a cuddle boy!
Love you,
Mariette
