REPURPOSED EARRING DISPLAY!

As I mentioned in my previous post, most of my jewelry exhibitions are "traveling exhibitions", so it's crucial to me to have practical, lightweight displays that can travel. A few days ago, while I was thinking about a good idea for displaying my earrings, I casually rediscovered this wonderful wooden table mat my Mom had had for ages... she remembers her mother having it many years ago, so it may date back to the 50s or even earlier!

High-quality craftmanship from long gone-by days... and really pretty to look at! Wonderful wood!

You can fold it up... and look what happens when you have it standing!

It's just GORGEOUS, isn't it? I can already see it displaying my earrings under my beloved Aegean light! :)

GETTING ORGANIZED!

These chilly days are perfect for making creative summer plans!

... inventory building...

... thinking about practical display solutions that are nice and light-weight at the same time (that's very important to me, as most of my jewelry shows are "traveling exhibitions")...

... stocking up on new pieces, including quicker designs such as earrings, that are always a runner!

... checking supplies that can travel and may come in handy for last-minute creations...

I will soon show you a lovely repurpoused earring display that's lightweight and gorgeous! Stay tuned!

NEW OLD TREASURE CHEST

I love finding pretty boxes for storing jewelry or for displaying it at shows or fairs! This lovely find comes from a thrift store...

It is lined with beautiful handmade paper with embedded leaves and flowers... really unique indeed.

And it even has a mirror inside... Such a pretty box!

TOMORROW!

I've found this sweet, lovely wooden handpainted hanger from my childhood and I' going to use it to display my own handpainted wooden bead necklaces... A cherished childhood memory holding my adult dreams... :)

CREATIVE CORNER: Wooden Jewelry Display Box

I had bought this beautiful wooden box some time ago, knowing it would make a perfect box for storing and/or displaying my jewelry.

I love making my own jewelry boxes and displays! I mostly make rings and I already have some nice selfmade ring boxes (which even followed me to Rhodes!), but with the Turin Handmade event getting closer, I thought about a solution for my earrings and some of my pendants. First of all I lined the inner base with foam.

Then I covered the foam with black fabric.

For the earrings I found a simple solution: I cut cardboard so as to fit the inside of the lid, making sure to leave some extra surface to bend so as to keep the earring holder lifted from the lid. This takes some "engineering" but it was not so hard, I just measured the inner dimensions of the box carefully.

I pierced the cardboard for the earrings...

And here is my completed jewelry display box! Since all the elements can be taken out, it's still possible to change the "inner life" of the box to fit different occasions!

New Wooden Treasure Box

I have found this lovely box in untreated wood and I had to buy it! It would make a great box for storing little things, a lovely jewelry box or even a beautiful box for displaying jewelry.
I think I'll try to turn it into a display box for earrings and pendants, it would look great lined with black fabric... Oh and it would make a lovely photo prop for photographing my jewelry! :)
