SANTA'S VILLAGE

Last Sunday I visited a lovely Christmas Village with my mother, my brother, my sister-in-law and my little nephew. In this Christmas Village you can find a Christmas market with booths selling handicrafts, an ice-skating rink and Santa's House -- which, according to the organizers, has been built reproducing Santa's original house in Rovaniemi, Finland. In this house, Babbo Natale (Santa's name in Italian) receives the children and they can give him their letters and have a picture taken with him.
Wishing you all a wonderful December month, my friends!

Thank you Hanne Bente! :)
I love the Christmas atmosphere too, especially in small villages. We have lots of Christmas decorations here too :) But I guess Danish Christmas must be really magical, with snow and all! Sometimes we have a white Christmas here too, right now the mountains are already covered with snow, I can see them from my window!
Have a lovely weekend!
Hugs!

For many, many years, in early December I was abroad for business meetings and I always enjoyed the beautiful Christmas markets. Now that I retired, I miss them!!!!
Today is Saint Anna's day in Greece, so I also wish you χρόνια πολλά!!!!!

Thank you so much for your wishes, Marie-Anne!!!! :) I hadn't realized it was my "Greek name day" today, although friends had told me in the past! Hehehe it's nice to have two name days, one in Italy and one in Greece ;)
The North European tradition of Christmas markets has come to Italy only in recent years; the tradition is more ancient in the German-speaking areas (South Tirol), and the Christmas markets are really wonderful there!

:D I clicked on the website and it surprised me with the Jingle Bells song.

The one thing I like about Christmas markets is the merry atmosphere. I enjoy the markets in Zurich, but after 4 years and seeing the same old shops, it has become very sadly, boring. I am now in search for different markets!
