FASHION AND ANNUK CREATIONS: A GORGEOUS BLOG FEATURE!

My dear friends, today I want to share with you my joy for a wonderful, amazing feature on a lovely blog by a dear friend of mine, fellow jewelry designer Dori from Hunkii Dorii. You may remember her from my Experimental Jewelry feature. Well, this lovely lady not only is a super talented jewelry artist, she has an amazing eye for color and for fashion! Look at this and you'll know why I'm... swooning! :) I feel like I've had my pieces worn by gorgeous models at a fashion show... Oh... dreaming... :)

The feature is SO beautiful that I HAD to copy it here, but please remember that the original post is by Dori, and it would be so nice if you could visit her original post and leave a comment there too! THANK YOU DORI, you made my day! :)

Annuk Creations

Welcome to my new experimental series: Fashion Feature, in which I introduce artists and crafters and their works through fashion.

My fourth guest is Anna from AnnukCreations, who is a mixed media jewelry designer and who creates Mediterranean wearable art in her home in the Alps. She is greatly inspired by her travels, especially to Greece and the Aegean sea, the gold, blue and white colors of the which dominate in her designs. Looking at her creations you will undoubtedly smell the summer, the sea and the sun, feel the warmth of the white rocks on the beach and the sand between your toes. Anna's most beloved materials are wood, metal, wire, clay, glass and paint.

Click on the images of rings to visit Anna's creations.

For an AnnukCreations-sundae...

...first take a lot of sun:

Then add a pinch of sea:

And finally, decorate with those famous white houses:

To take a respite from all that sweet summer heat and intensity, here's a little breezy shabby chic romantic collection on the side:

I hope you enjoyed our little sojourn to the Mediterranean. You can also see what Anna's up to on her blog or by visiting her website.

Experimental Jewelry: HUNKII DORII

I love experimental and unconventional jewelry! In this series I'm featuring jewelry artists who work with unconventional materials and techniques, and who see a ring or a pendant as a canvas to express their art and creativity.

When I first came across the work of Hungary based jewelry artist Dori, I couldn't help falling in love with her absolutely unique, colorful, happy polymer clay jewelry! Dori's work reflects her sunny, smiling, passionate personality and is a wonderful trip into fantasy worlds and a colorful world filled with her evident love for life!

Dori works under her own brand Hunkii Dorii, which stands for her cheerful and colorful philosophy. I'm in love with her stunning Story Statement Necklaces (each one tells a story and is a true "painting" handshaped from polymer clay!), her Egyptian-inspired necklaces and her amazing Art Deco inspired pieces. Dori has indeed taken polymer clay to a high form of Art.
Dori, who has always been creative and has always enjoyed dabbling in all sorts of crafts, tells us that "my current craze is jewelry-making with a dash of sewing on the side. I love colors and like to experiment with them as well as with texture, materials, shape, design and techniques. I make all the pieces entirely with my own two hands and by the sweat of my brow. As a rule I like to make life harder for myself by not repeating something I've once made, but sometimes I like to toy around with an idea and create variations on a theme." (yay, a kindred soul! ;)) She also lets us know that her work is "pretty eclectic, which should not be attributed to my lack of style and aesthetic sense, but to the fact that my hands (and free time) can barely keep up with my mind, as I always want to try to create something new. In fact, I'm convinced that I have been cursed - I can't walk past anything without thousands of ideas popping into my head. Inspiration comes from everywhere and beyond - if you've ever created anything, you know what I'm talking about..." (Dori, I love this!!!)
Can you believe all of this awesome jewelry is entirely created out of polymer clay??? Enjoy! :)

You can find Dori's unique jewelry in her Etsy shop Hunkii Dorii (make sure you check out her sold items too!), and you can get to know more about her work-in-progress and her colorful world in her blog.
