A Sweet Surprise from my Beloved Greece: THANK YOU SIVYLLA :)!!!!!
There are people who really know how to warm your heart... and my friend Sivylla definitely is one of them! I met her through the Etsy Greek Team, and she has always made me feel at home in the Greek community on Etsy -- exactly like when I'm in my beloved Greece! She thanked me for my support to the Greek community while actually I was getting SO much support from them! Well, Sivylla is one of those sweet lovely persons who can really make your day! And she DID -- oh, and HOW she did!!!
She sent me a lovely surprise gift package, it was such a pleasure just looking at it! Everything is so nicely and lovingly packaged... and I can really see how professionally she works! Here is what she wrote to me: "Because I know you love Greece so much, I'm sending you some pebbles from my collection, so you'll feel more close to us :)". How sweet is that?
The pebbles from my beloved Greece are so beautiful and made round and smooth by the sea, and the two little "cat's eye" sea shells... OMG, they're just amazing - I HAVE to make something out of them! A pair of earrings, maybe?
Ευχαριστώ πολύ Sivylla μου!
Sivylla is a talented jewelry designer and she creates happy and colorful jewelry, as well as wonderful Greek leather sandals ("santalia") turned into pieces of art, that you can find in her Etsy shop Sivylla. She also creates beautiful paper art that you can find in her Etsy shop Paper Fairytale. Do visit both of them, you'll be enchanted!

CHRISTMAS IN GREECE: MY FIRST EGST CHALLENGE!
I have taken part in my first Etsy Greek Street Team (EGST) Challenge, which happens to be my very first challenge! The official theme - given the festive time - was the pomegranate, since this is a typical Greek and Mediterranean winter fruit. Widely present in ancient Greek mythology, in modern times the pomegranate still holds strong symbolic meanings in Greece, and the fruits are a common decoration for the home in these festive days in Greece.
Red and Christmas-related creations could be entered too, and this was my entry for the challenge. I just discovered that my felt ring bears an astonishing resemblance to the pomegranate blossom!
These are the beautiful entries by my EGSTeam mates!

How I met Etsy...
My brand new membership in the EGST (Etsy Greek Street Team) makes me think about how it all started... No, I didn't discover Etsy online, I didn't make an internet research, nor did I hear about it from a friend... I discovered it in a most unusual way: in a Greek magazine!!! When I'm in Greece I like buying the monthly magazine YOUNG: it's just one of many women's monthly magazines, but I love its colorful layout, the fashion sections, the variety in themes treated (not just the "usual" fashion and love!) and (I must admit) the lovely gadgets that come with the magazine! Such as colorful cell phone cases, purses, make-up, scarves... you name it! (For those of you who are not familiar with Greek magazines, you need to know that they have kind of a "challenge" about who's giving the most beautiful gifts with the magazine :)!)
Well, my knowledge of Greek is really basic and I can just read and understand a little here and there :) but nevertheless it's through Young that I got to know about Etsy! The magazine has a beautiful feature called "Nέοι δημιουργοί" (new creators) featuring young Greek artists and designers, which I really enjoy. But it is in the feature "Eco News" that I discovered Etsy! This section features jewelry made with recycled, upcycled and reclaimed materials - and most of the jewelry artists featured have a shop on... Etsy!
So... here you discovered my quite unusual Etsy-story :)! Which found its natural completion (so I believe) in my being welcomed by the Etsy Greek Street Team!!! Thank you again lovely koritsakia! Eiste koukles!

OFFICIAL MEMBER OF THE EGST!!!!!!
YAY!!!!! I'm an official member of the ETSY GREEK STREET TEAM!!!!
I've been officially invited by Antigoni, the Team Captain, and it's such a great honor and an incredible joy for me!!! As a lover of Greece and everything Greek who finds her inspiration mostly in the light and color of the Greek Islands, I can only say I am so happy and excited, honored and really moved by - once again - the warmth of Greece!
